Theoretical Fluid Mechanics in Biology
Professor Pedley will deliver a series of four lectures on
recent advances in theoretical fluid mechanics in biology.
In particular, the highlighted topics will be blood flow in arteries,
pattern formation in suspensions of swimming micro-organisms, fluid mechanics in
biological oceanography, and flow and oscillations in collapsible tubes. In addition
to Professor Pedley's lectures, a mini-conference featuring lectures by
international experts will be held.
